BackgroundLittleevidenceexistsoftheburdenandpredictorsofcardiacdeathaftertranscatheteraorticvalvereplacement(TAVR).

ObjectivesThepurposeofthisstudywastoassesstheincidenceandpredictorsofcardiacdeathfromadvancedheartfailure(HF)andsuddencardiacdeath(SCD)inalargepatientcohortundergoingTAVR.

MethodsThestudyincludedatotalof3,patientswhounderwentTAVRusingballoon(57%)orself-expandable(43%)valves.CausesofdeathweredefinedaccordingtotheValveAcademicResearchConsortium–2.

ResultsAtameanfollow-upof22±18months,patientshaddiedduetoadvancedHF(15.2%oftotaldeaths,46.1%ofdeathsfromcardiaccauses)and57haddiedduetoSCD(5.6%ofdeaths,16.9%ofcardiacdeaths).Baseline
